Lake Manyara National Park is a lush and scenic gem nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment in northern Tanzania. Though smaller than some other parks, it offers a surprising variety of landscapes and wildlife in a compact area.

Best Time to Visit Lake Manyara
Dry Season (June to October)
Animals are easier to spot as they gather around water sources.
Roads are in better condition
Fewer mosquitoes.
Cooler weather, especially in the mornings and evenings
Wet Season (November to May)
The park is lush and green with dramatic views. Ideal time to see migratory birds. Fewer tourists, so it’s quieter and more intimate. Tree-climbing lions and elephants may be harder to find due to thick vegetation.

April can be quite rainy, with some roads becoming muddy or difficult to navigate Wildlife is present year-round, but the dry season is best if your main goal is animal sightings
